We celebrated Race Relations Day in Room 33 by dressing up in our cultural clothing, talking about why it is important to celebrate this day, working together in groups to demonstrate our understanding and also writing a summary about what Race Relations Day is. Race Relations Day by Jasman and Daksh This year Race Relations Day was on the 21st of March, with the theme of ‘Give Nothing to Racism’. It’s a day for eliminating racial discrimination. Almost every country celebrate this event, but celebrate it on different dates - like U.A.E celebrate it on the 25th of February and Canada celebrate it on 21st of June. It started in 2003 with the theme ‘Hands Up Kiwis for Every Race and Place’. We all should celebrate race relations day because it’s a time to reflect on the journey towards being a inclusive nation.
